There is no smell, no smoke, no tar, and no wafts of smoke floating about. The efffect from the THC is equivalent to smoking it, so no loss of effect for her. There would be no smoke or scent for the kids to notice, it just wouldn't exsist anymore. The pot is placed on the metal heating plate. The pot is heated up to a point far far lower than that of a flame. I think it's around 400 degrees or so. The particulates are heated up into a bag that has a valve, and is then detached and inhaled. No coughing, no tar, no smoke, no respiratory illnesses, no stench, no complaints! My neighbors can't even tell that I smoke. People that come over can't tell. You can use it for tobacco, pot or almost any plant matter. The output temperature needs to be adjustable, as different plants have different heating tempuratures. I recommend the Volcano (If the moderators of this website don't like the fact that I put a brand name on their website, please just erase the name, not my whole post, thank you.) . It's about $550. Expensive, but a real good alternative. They last at least ten years. That's a long time. I feel the investment is worth the price, for eveyone's benefit, not just the user. I\'m 21 yrs old, live in NYC and have pothead neighbors. I live in an apartment building and these idiot neighbors smoke in the building hallway, not in their apartment (because I\'m guessing they don\'t want any of their things to stink) and the smell comes strong into my apartment. I\'ve had a headache almost every day this week because they\'ve been smoking more than usual... they also smoke cigarettes, which also makes my head spin, but I won\'t complain about that since cigs are (unfortunately) legal. I have smoked pot before but not regularly and the smell is killing me! If they keep smoking heavily I will call the cops, why should I suffer for their habit? *sigh* I feel your pain! Yet alcohol and cigarette deaths totaled well over 500,000 in 2000, or 21.6% of all deaths in the United States, and in the last 10 years that number has surely increased.
